Casey Turkish Twist Damascus

Turkish Twist Pattern (in progress tutorial)

The Turkish twist pattern is a very popular damascus steel. Also known as twisted strand pattern it was commonly used in damascus shot gun barrels of the 18th and 19th century.

I was taught the basics of the pattern by Mastersmith Bill Fiorini at a weekend hammerin may years ago. Basically this is a composite pattern made from several damascus bars which have been twisted and weded together to form a single composite damascus bar.
