This blade is made with W2 tool steel. The process of using Japanese style clay coating for hardening and tempering was used to produce the Hamon. Hamon is the visual effect created in the blade by the hardening process of the transition between the area of harder steel of the cutting edge and the softer steel spine of the blade. This knife comes with a leather sheath by Ken Rowe (not pictured). Handle material is Tasmanian Eucalyptus Fiddleback Burl. 416ss guard. Casey Damascus spacer and butt cap. Blade length 9.5”.
